I. Dream Twitching

Like people, cats dream; if chasing or playing in a dream, a leg may suddenly twitch—a subconscious move. The cat may wake from it then sleep again; this is normal, no worry.

II. Internal Parasite Infection

Severe internal parasites can cause twitching while asleep or awake. Such severe disease may trigger seizures, and by then dewormer barely helps; only a vet. So keep up inside-out deworming to avoid a mess.

III. Calcium Deficiency

Growing cats need much calcium; if the food is low in calcium, deficiency causes twitching. Old cats lose bone calcium faster and also twitch. Supplement calcium and avoid high-phosphorus organ meats; meeting calcium need eases twitching.

IV. Poisoning

Organophosphate poisons like insecticides and rat bait cause twitching nerve symptoms; if a cat breathes insecticide it may poison-twist, so ventilate when spraying and never spray in front of the cat.
