Why Is a Puppy Vomiting and Refusing to Eat?

1 Environment Change or Food Irritation

2 Uncontrolled Feeding
Irregular meals that lead to binge eating or an inconsistent schedule can make a puppy vomit from overeating. Feed at set times and in set amounts, and clear the bowl once the pup is about seventy percent full. Otherwise indigestion can progress into enteritis over time.
3 Internal Parasites
Without regular internal and external deworming, parasites can invade the intestines and cause vomiting—sometimes the puppy will even expel the worms themselves. Treat promptly with a dewormer, because a heavy parasite load drains the puppy’s resistance and overall health.
4 Distemper Infection
Distemper spreads easily among puppies and brings vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and coughing. If your puppy is vomiting, consider whether distemper could be the cause and get to a clinic without delay to avoid missing the treatment window. Enteritis and canine parvovirus can show similar signs, so a proper diagnosis matters.
