Cat distemper is contagious between cats. The virus spreads indirectly through an infected cat’s feces and vomit, or directly by contact with a healthy cat. So when taking a cat out, keep it in a carrier and away from infected or unknown-vaccination cats. Also, after returning home, clean and disinfect your hands before touching your cat to avoid bringing the pathogen to it.
