Where do cats like to be petted most?

Cats generally like being touched on their chin, cheeks, head and back, and many also enjoy being gently patted on the bottom, that is, the area just above the tail. Because individual cats differ, the favorite spot may vary, so the owner can test the cat’s reactions to find the place it likes most.

Also, cats are usually sensitive and quite alert. If a cat is not yet familiar with its owner, touching it without warning may get you scratched. So the owner should first feed the cat, spend time playing with it, and build a good bond before reaching out to pet it.
