What happens when a puppy is hit?

After being hit, a puppy is usually frightened and becomes wary of its owner and other people. If it is beaten often, the dog gradually becomes overly sensitive and develops stronger aggression, tending to bark excessively or even bite when someone comes close.

Some smarter dogs may even choose to run away after being hit and never come back. In addition, because a puppy’s body is fragile, being hit hard can cause injury and leave behind lasting physical problems.
