Dogs usually start teething at 3-4 months and finish around 8 months, beginning with the incisors and progressing to canines, premolars and molars. During teething the gums become red, itchy and painful, so dogs constantly chew furniture and shoes to relieve it; prepare teething sticks.

You can also supplement calcium during teething to prevent the baby teeth from staying in and causing a double row of teeth.
