What are the pros and cons of the English Springer Spaniel?

The English Springer Spaniel’s advantages include a distinctive appearance – its ears carry thick, curly hair like a rock star, very individual. It is friendly, warm to people and unlikely to attack. It is sturdy and seldom ill. Its learning ability is strong; ranked 17th in intelligence, it is fairly smart and thus easier to train. The disadvantages are mainly heavy shedding, a somewhat delicate stomach prone to digestive issues, and very high energy – it needs over 3 hours of outdoor exercise daily.
