Oxytetracycline dosing depends on weight, with an oral dose of about 12.5 to 25 mg per kg, so a 20-jin (10 kg) dog needs about 125 to 250 mg. Clinically it is used for respiratory infections, pneumonia, intestinal infections, and conjunctivitis.

But not all diarrhea should be treated with it; it is best to see a vet. If a hospital is impossible, use the lowest dose and observe. Oxytetracycline is an older antibiotic with widespread resistance, and allergic, young, or pregnant dogs must not use it due to liver and kidney burden; its kidney toxicity is high, so do not use long term, and switch to ceftiofur or amoxicillin-clavulanate.
