A parrot with head tilt, right-leg inability to stand, diarrhea, and a hugely swollen red right eyelid may have several diseases, most likely psittacosis, a systemic contagious disease from Chlamydia psittaci, also called ‘one-eye cold’.

It shows eye redness, tearing, and red conjunctiva, plus sleepiness, ruffled feathers, lethargy, wheezing, and diarrhea; long diarrhea can dehydrate or unbalance nutrition and prevent standing. If severe, seek a vet promptly to avoid death. Once diagnosed, treat with doxycycline, azithromycin, or enrofloxacin, and strengthen environment management and disinfection.
