How do goldfish breed?

When breeding goldfish, first prepare healthy females and males at a ratio of about 1:2 or 1:1. A mature male shows breeding tubercles (whitish bumps on the front of the pelvic fins and gill covers) during the breeding season, with a slender, slightly sunken genital pore; females have no tubercles, a wider and slightly protruding genital pore, and a full, rounded belly in the breeding season. Second, choose a spacious, clean, shaded, and quiet tank or pond as the breeding site, with water depth around 20-25 cm and temperature 18-25°C, and lay some aquatic plants for the eggs to attach to. Then place the goldfish in the breeding box; the male will chase the female, the female releases eggs, and the male fertilizes them. Once fertilization is complete, immediately remove the male. Goldfish eggs usually hatch in about 3-7 days; keep the tank clean during this period to avoid fry dying from cloudy water or lack of oxygen.
