1 Manage Bedding

Wash the cage regularly and dry fully before reuse. Lazy owners who only wipe inside leave outside moisture that builds up and sickens the hamster. Wash on sunny days for quick drying and sun-disinfection. Sun other supplies too, but never the hamster itself or it may die of heat.
3 Watch the Body
Check cheek pouches for spoiled food to avoid cheilitis; do not feed sharp or easily spoiling items. Check droppings — unformed stool means chill or too much water; adjust or wet-tail may threaten life.
4 Use a Dehumidifier
