What Happens If a Puppy Gets Depression?

A depressed puppy becomes lethargic and unwilling to move, with poor appetite and excessive sleep, and loses interest in interaction and in favorite toys or treats, often hiding in a corner.

Poor mood reduces appetite and the dog grows thin, with a rough, dull coat. If depression is confirmed, the owner should spend more time petting and playing with the dog to help it open up, and feed nutritious, easily digested food.
