Rabbits are gentle and rarely show aggression. If a rabbit bites, it is very likely feeling threatened or frightened. When scared or threatened, a rabbit usually tries to flee or hide; if there is nowhere to hide or it cannot escape, it may bite in self-defense. Also, a sick or injured rabbit may become irritable and anxious and bite people.
