1. Feeling unwell. A sudden refusal to eat likely means discomfort or illness. Many canine diseases cause loss of appetite, and sick dogs usually show other signs such as low spirits. If you notice these or other abnormalities, take the puppy to a vet for a thorough check.

2. Picky eating. This is very common — most dogs refuse kibble at some point and only want meat and treats. Encourage more exercise to burn energy, and feed at fixed times and amounts; if the puppy won’t eat, remove the bowl. Hunger will gradually break the habit.
