Cat contractions are regular, sustained tightening of the abdomen, with abdominal cramping, rapid breathing and restlessness. When a pregnant cat shows contractions, she will likely deliver within 1 to 3 hours; move her to the nesting box promptly and keep things quiet, without disturbing her.

Watch her closely; if she has not delivered after 24 hours, take her to a vet for oxytocin to assist labor. If there is dystocia, a cesarean is needed in time, or the fetuses will slowly suffocate in the womb.
