Canine coronavirus shows mainly as reduced appetite, severe vomiting, watery diarrhea, and rapid dehydration. Early signs are lethargy, poor appetite, and persistent vomiting of undigested food or chyme, later yellow acidic mucus. Diarrhea starts as pasty stool, then yellow or gray-white watery stool.
It can progress to coffee- or soy-sauce-colored bloody stool, with frequent vomiting causing rapid dehydration and weight loss. Unvaccinated puppies are highly susceptible and may die; take the dog to a vet promptly if these signs appear.
