How can I tell if a thrush (Hwamei) bird is too thin or too fat?
Judge by body shape and movement. A healthy bird has a flat back, slightly tucked waist, no obvious bulge or dip; a protruding or sunken belly means too fat or too thin. Healthy birds are energetic, agile, light; clumsy flight suggests overweight or health issues. Adult weight should be 20–25g; above that, watch diet and exercise.
