How often a rabbit defecates depends on its eating. Rabbits are constant feeders and usually poop right after eating—sometimes even while eating—so more frequent meals mean more, and more frequent, droppings.

Normally rabbit feces are black, pea-sized pellets with a slight sheen when fresh; if the droppings look normal there’s nothing to worry about. If the diet is normal but stool becomes less frequent or stops for days, the rabbit is likely constipated—give it more water and a gut probiotic to promote motility and relieve the constipation.
