The FIP virus survives about 7 to 10 days off a host, but is not heat- or acid-resistant, so UV, heat or disinfectant can kill it; full elimination usually needs about 1 to 2 weeks of continued disinfecting. UV alone needs about 15 days, paired with disinfectants like Dettol or DuPont.
