The Blue-eye Rasbora is actually silver-white, but its eyes shimmer blue-green in the lower half under light, hence the name.

2 Appearance

Not hard to keep with stable water. Choosing well is key: swimming posture and color judge quality.

The body is beautiful silver-white; under light the lower half of the eye shimmers blue-green, hence ‘Blue-eye Rasbora’. The dorsal fin is white with a large black spot—a pretty small fish. Females have a larger belly and yellow caudal; males are slender with redder caudal.

3 Habitat

Mind water quality; it likes weakly acidic soft water and benefits from planted tanks for cover and beauty.

Easy to keep, likes weakly acidic soft water, best in a planted tank. Temperature 22–26°C, hardness 5–10 dGH, pH 6.0–6.5.

Easy to keep and gentle, popular. Feed dry food, occasionally animal live food for balance.
