Can hamsters eat corn?

Hamsters can eat corn, but only raw corn. Corn is rich in vitamins and minerals that supplement nutrition when fed appropriately. But hamsters cannot eat cooked corn, because they hoard food and cooked corn is sticky, easily causing pouch inflammation and harming their teeth.

Also, feed corn with no added seasonings to avoid metabolic burden; if the kernels are hard to bite, soak them briefly in warm water to soften before feeding.
