I. Reasons a goldfish won’t swim

1. Wrong temperature. Best range 20–28°C. A sudden rise or drop makes the fish inactive and refuse food, even sicken or die. If inactive, check and adjust the temperature.

2. Environment change. A goldfish in a new setting turns lethargic. If you just moved it, stop feeding 1–2 days until it adapts, and avoid changing tank decorations often to keep the environment stable.

3. Illness. A sick goldfish often stays still at the bottom. Fin rot, gill disease, and others are common — inspect the body for abnormalities and treat promptly if sick.

3. Right temperature. Too hot or cold lowers activity, so keep it suitable and steady.

4. Reasonable light. Goldfish need some sun but not harsh sun. Moderate sun aids metabolism and activity.
