Why Is a Hamster’s Urine Yellow?

1 Internal Heat
Dark urine often means internal heat, as in people. Check for high-calorie or fatty food; if so, it is heat. Give more water, mung-bean skin, vegetables and fruit for vitamins to clear heat — recovery in about two days.

If heat is ruled out, consider kidney trouble or stones — urine turns yellow with sediment. See a vet. Reproductive disease also yellows urine; inflammation can too — a little amoxicillin reduces inflammation.
3 Summer Dehydration
