Why doesn’t the dog get close to its owner?

A dog not getting close to its owner is usually because it does not trust the owner enough. When first brought home, a dog is unfamiliar with the owner and environment and generally will not show closeness right away. In addition, if the owner is cold to the dog normally and the dog feels no love, it may keep its distance.

Also, if the owner often yells at the dog or makes noise at home that makes it uneasy, the dog may withdraw. Moreover, a dog not getting close may simply be naturally introverted or independent and less clingy.
