1. Why chinchillas pee everywhere
Territory marking: they use urine to mark.
Estrus: males in constant season pee often; common in males.
Bad mood: they vent emotion by peeing.
Food dislike: intermittent, usually on the food or bowl.
Bad habit: learned from parents or un-corrected peeing.
2. What to do
Causes differ, so methods differ:
Bad mood is easiest: find the cause (ignored, unfed), give company and favourite treats (hay cakes, apple chips, raw oats) in moderation.
Food dislike: check food quality and spoilage; also check for odd smells and keep clean.
Estrus or marking: scent method lay shavings where they pee, move soiled shavings to the toilet, clean the spot, and mask the urine smell with strong scents (toilet water, cooling oil, pomelo peel); in about a week it improves and avoids habit forming.
Estrus peeing can return, but they usually pee on the large base plate, not platforms or wooden houses; remove those so they stay on the base, then add them back once fixed.
