When does a baby squirrel need to chew on things to wear down its teeth?

Once a squirrel is one month old, the owner can appropriately provide it with some items to grind its teeth. A squirrel’s teeth keep growing throughout its life, and without grinding they become too long, interfering with eating and, in serious cases, causing illness.

Chewing is therefore essential for squirrels. During care, always provide items such as apple-wood branches, squirrel-specific grinding stones, and chew sticks.
