When do red-eared sliders usually lay eggs?

Red-eared sliders typically mate in late April and lay eggs from June to August, usually at dusk or dawn. Before laying they become restless, stop eating, and wander looking for a spot, then settle and stay still. After laying they bury the eggs and pack the soil with their plastron before leaving. They do not guard the nest; eggs hatch in 50-60 days, delayed if temperature and humidity are off.
