Why won’t my blood parrot fish eat?

Common reasons a blood parrot fish won’t eat include low water temperature, fright, dirty water, or enteritis. Their ideal temperature is 25-30 C; below 25 they reduce activity and appetite.

Blood parrots are timid and often lose appetite when scared; poor or polluted water also lowers appetite and causes discomfort. In addition, refusal may mean enteritis, which needs active treatment to avoid worsening.
