Kittens generally start teething at 2 to 3 weeks of age, and their baby teeth are all in by about 6 weeks. Between 4 and 6 months the baby teeth gradually fall out and permanent teeth come in. During this period kittens have a strong urge to chew, so owners can offer teething sticks to ease discomfort.
The permanent teeth are usually fully grown by around 6 months. Also, during the teething period owners should supplement calcium appropriately to prevent delayed tooth replacement caused by calcium deficiency.
