I. Sarcoptic Mange

Canine scabies mites cause intense itching; the dog can’t help scratching. The mites live in the epidermis; their waste and secretions cause allergic itching. II. Flea and Lice Infection

Fleas and lice appear on the dog’s back, belly and groin; parting the fur reveals flea feces (black dots) and eggs (white dots). Treatment is mainly flea removal—shampoo to wash or kill them, or oral flea medicine. Prevention is mainly daily hygiene; spray repellent when out, or bathe with dog-specific flea soap.

III. Atopic Dermatitis

If itching appears suddenly, it’s likely allergy, usually food. Atopic dermatitis shows itching, red patches, otitis, red bumps, vomiting; wipe with corticosteroids or salicylic alcohol, plus anti-itch and anti-inflammatory medicine. Bathing is key—keep the dog clean without harming skin.

IV. Environmental Factors

Hot-humid, damp-cold, overly dry or changeable climates can cause itching—e.g. too close to a heater in winter, or lying on concrete in heat. Watch habits; don’t let it stay in damp or dry-hot places, and keep its area at a good temperature.
