Anemic dogs have yellow skin, dull rough coat and pale mucous membranes. They are also thin, slow-growing, wobbly, drowsy and may have hemoglobinuria. Anemia from poor nutrition, poisoning or blood loss needs a vet for blood-building and symptomatic treatment.
If anemia is left long, it can cause total body failure and death.
