Red swollen eyes may be conjunctivitis from a foreign body; cats like corners with dust and bacteria that irritate the eyes. Clean with saline or use antibacterial drops like neomycin sulfate 5 to 8 times daily, and wipe discharge with a clean pad. Also give oral amoxicillin powder to reduce secondary infection.
During this, use an Elizabethan collar to avoid paw bacteria infecting the eyes and worsening them. If no relief in 3 to 5 days, see a vet promptly.
