Expert Answer

Because liver is rich in vitamin A, long-term excess intake can cause vitamin A toxicity, with symptoms like bone problems, muscle pain, dandruff, poor appetite, and lethargy. Liver is also high in fat, and too much easily causes obesity, raising the risk of cardiopulmonary disease, joint issues, high lipids, and diabetes.

So feed liver in moderation. If your dog has already eaten too much, take it to a veterinary hospital for a checkup.
