What does the crocodile lizard (Shinisaurus) eat?

The crocodile lizard mainly eats various insects, except hemipterans and those with hair or spines, and also eats earthworms, spiders, small frogs, and fish.

Its diet is broad; it prefers live prey and can eat victims larger than itself.

Though it usually eats live food, when food is scarce it will eat already-dead animals, including carcasses of reptiles, birds, and mammals.
