What does a crying dog look like?

A crying dog lowers its tail, makes a low sound, looks mournful and avoids people, often from sadness, fear or pain; comfort it with treats or a walk. If it only tears but seems normal, the cause may be eye infection or a blocked nasolacrimal duct; check for foreign bodies, inverted lashes, redness or discharge and see a vet.
