Feeding a red-eared slider depends on its life stage: hatchlings need daily meat-rich meals, while adults do well with pellets, insects, and veggies two to three times a week. A turtle stretching its neck and not eating may be new-environment stress (fast and observe), low temperature below 20C (raise it), bacterial disease like enteritis/shell rot/pneumonia (vet), or a food blockage you can try to remove.
Does dry heaving count as enteritis? Also, there are some fluffy bits of skin around the eyes – could it be a bit of white-eye disease?
Common signs of enteritis in turtles include lethargy, reduced appetite, unformed or abnormally colored droppings, and refusal to eat. In severe cases the eyes may sink, the skin may become dry and dull, and muscles may loosen, eventually leading to death from systemic failure. In early stages, lactobacillus tablets or berberine can help adjust gut flora, with anti-inflammatory drugs as supportive care; severe cases need oral or injected antibiotics. The blurry photo makes it hard to judge the eyes, so white-eye disease cannot be confirmed, though a white film over the eyes is possible.
