Lianshan Black Rabbit
The Lianshan Black Rabbit is a meat rabbit breed developed in Wulian County, Shandong Province, China. With its entirely black coat, high meat yield, and strong reproductive performance, it is the only black-furred meat rabbit breed in China and holds special significance for the development of new meat rabbit varieties.

Rabbit Breeding Characteristics
Rabbits are extremely fertile but have no regular estrous cycle — they are induced ovulators that release eggs only after mating or drug stimulation, 10–12 hours later. They have two separate uteri (allowing double pregnancies), mate most successfully around dawn and dusk, and suffer summer infertility, especially males. Pseudopregnancy is common and prevented by re-mating.

When Is the Best Time to Breed Rabbits
The best breeding time depends on the method. For natural mating, breed does at mid-to-late estrus (vulva bright red); for post-kindling 'blood mating', breed 1–2 days after birth; for AI, induce ovulation first and inseminate within 2–8 hours. Time of day also matters — cool parts of the day in summer, warm midday in winter.
