I feel my dog is very hot; thigh temperature is 38.4°C; I’m not sure if it has a fever, but its nose is moist

Feeling hot may be normal surface temperature or fever from disease, since a dog’s surface feels warmer than a human’s; normal is 38–39.2°C, and thigh-root reading has large error—use rectal temperature, or add about 0.2°C to a thigh reading; over 39.5°C means fever.

When feverish, a dog is lethargic, sleepy, has a dry nose, and breathes faster; without these signs it likely is not feverish. But if unsure yet the dog shows illness, take it to a vet for diagnosis at once.
