How to train a Labrador?

A Labrador is gentle and smart, so it is not hard to train. First gain its trust by feeding, playing, and contacting it often so it knows you mean no harm and will listen. Then start simple training, like teaching it to run to you at its name: call the name, say “come,” use a treat to lure it, and reward or praise with words and head pats when it comes.

When the Labrador does wrong, look serious and scold it firmly; you need some sternness to keep authority, because if you are always gentle it may think it is the boss.
