How to Tell If Your Dog’s Deworming Worked

1 Overview
[Judging Internal Deworming]
The most direct way is to check the dog’s stool or vomit for white rice-like worms. If present, keep watching; only when stool shows no parasites and vomiting stops is it successful. Also judge by whether the dog has appetite and is not wasting away.
When giving internal dewormer, if the dog vomits within 5 hours of the pill, the drug may fail. Note: no worms in stool does NOT mean no deworming needed; to prevent relapse, deworm regularly.
[Judging External Deworming]
External drops kill adult external parasites. After treatment the dog will not itch and scratch everywhere. You will also see better spirits, more eating and calmer obedience – all signs the parasites are gone.
An unclean environment easily keeps external parasites on the dog, so keep the living space clean, sun the daily items, bathe scientifically, balance nutrition to raise resistance, and deworm externally regularly (advised every 3 months) for better prevention.
