Deworming a Bichon Frise can start from 1.5 to 2 months of age. Preventive deworming includes internal and external aspects. Internal deworming mainly prevents parasites such as roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, coccidia, and heartworms, using medicines with ingredients like albendazole, praziquantel, febantel, and pyrantel pamoate.

Internal deworming is generally recommended once a month before adulthood, then adjusted to every 2 to 3 months after adulthood. External deworming mainly prevents parasites such as fleas, mites, lice, and ticks, using medicines with ingredients like fipronil, imidacloprid, and sarolaner. Since dogs have a high chance of picking up parasites outdoors, external deworming is recommended once a month.
