A dog can only be bathed one week after arriving at a new home. Right after moving, the big change and unfamiliar surroundings make the dog nervous, and bathing then can easily cause stress, lower immunity and trigger illness. Therefore the owner must not bathe it immediately but wait until the dog is used to the new home, which usually takes about a week.
In addition, if the dog is young and has not finished its vaccinations, it should be bathed only after vaccination is complete and antibody levels are adequate.
