How Often Does a Rose Hair Tarantula Molt?

A rose hair tarantula typically molts every 3 to 6 months. The cycle is not fixed and depends on species, temperature, environment, and food; with abundant food it molts more often. The molt itself finishes within half a day, and for 3 days afterward the owner need only provide water, not food. Before molting the spider becomes nervous and may show aggressive behavior, so during this time the keeper should not handle it.
