How many days until a rabies-infected cat dies?

A cat usually dies within 5–10 days after rabies symptoms appear. But if a cat is infected with the rabies virus without showing symptoms, it is hard to judge when it will die because the virus has an incubation period, generally 1–3 months. Cats rarely get rabies on their own; infection usually occurs from being bitten by a rabid dog or cat. Symptoms include restlessness, fear of light and water, and strong aggression. The best prevention is vaccination; owners should vaccinate their cats regularly.
