An arowana generally needs about 10 days to recover from throwing up its stomach. After it happens, stop feeding and change water, but do not change water on the same day–wait 1 to 2 days and change only a small amount daily until appetite returns, about a week.
Some arowanas also have enteritis with gastric eversion; the owner can judge by observing the feces.
