How long does it take to cure turtle shell rot?

Turtle shell rot usually takes about a month to cure. Treat by keeping the sick turtle dry, since the rotten area must not touch water. But the turtle cannot stay out of water too long, so soak it three times daily for half an hour each. To stop the rot from spreading, apply medicine consistently: first iodine on the rotten area, then erythromycin ointment. Repeat daily until healed.
