A guinea pig’s whole labor takes about half an hour, delivering 1 to 5 pups within that time. After birth she bites the cord and licks the blood.

She needs no help; too much interference can scare her into bleeding or dystocia. Just observe, and if labor is too long or there is heavy bleeding, suspect dystocia or stillbirth and see a vet.
