How long before a painted bunting starts singing?

Generally, a painted bunting sings 1-2 months after its feathers fully grow. Give it sunlight often, which helps its body and feather growth. Usually feathers are set by 6-7 weeks, and 1-2 months later it sings loudly. The young bird then looks much like an adult, but its internal organs are not yet mature; it becomes fully adult only after one molt.
