How long after a dog’s water breaks does it give birth?

A dog usually gives birth about an hour after its water breaks. If the water breaks or clear straining appears, take the dog to the whelping room to lie down, and prepare all supplies needed: scissors, tweezers, cotton balls, thread, 75% alcohol, towels, tissues, and some glucose water or goat milk for energy after birth.
