How long after a dog’s fracture can its foot touch the ground?

How long before a dog can put its foot down depends on fracture severity and recovery. A mild fracture, after treatment and 30 to 40 days of rest, can usually walk, but avoid strenuous exercise, big jumps, stairs, and slick floors.

For faster recovery, give good nursing during treatment and supplement calcium to aid bone healing.
